Tutorial Description

The Intel® compilers are available for compiling applications written in C, C++ and Fortran to run on Microsoft* Windows* and Linux* operating systems, on IA-32 and Itanium®-based systems.

Lesson 1 of this tutorial, Getting Started with the Intel Compilers, shows how to invoke the Intel compiler on both Linux and Windows, and also how to integrate the Intel compiler with Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 and .NET*. The remaining lessons introduce the major optimization options that you can use to improve the performance of your application.

The Intel compilers have many more optimizations than are detailed in this tutorial. See the Intel Compiler User's Guide for more information on the compiler and all available options.
